![]() ![]() Still, the marauders with whips are awesome and I had some still in my main army for a long time as center frontline. Here’s the most up-to-date how-to-play review of the new Chaos Daemons rules- click on the gallery above to see all the new 9th Edition rules from the Chaos Daemons codex! I didn't realize it was a mechanic until I accidentally used it, but that secondary army was the breaking point to beating Skarbrand the first time and would've helped me expand even better and faster if I used it earlier.Īfter that you start getting better units, Fiends, better cav (always have several, I kept them at 6 units) and then Exalted Daemonettes (which are amazing and can defo serve as a frontline). ![]() It makes settlement battles better when you can cover every possible entrance almost.Īnother is to not forget disciple armies very early on and focus your resources on them. They're cheap enough for you to get a massive force so you can flank the enemy, throw the marauders in at the front and have the daemon units and cav circle around and do the busy work. I went heavy on just marauders with maybe 4 daemonettes, and my second army was only marauders. I've seen a couple of people focus on daemonettes (especially youtubers), but the standard ones are horrible as your core army when they're mainly a cheap armor piercing option and best at flanking or mixing in with marauders. If you struggle early on, one tip I can give is to focus on marauders, if you aren't. I am not against terracotta, I just specifically think the flavor text of them should be that they are buried warriors of a bygone age encased in terracotta resurrected to fight now, possibly making them an unbreakable AP greatweapon infantry instead of just another tar pit unit that cathay doesn't need, as well as logically makes more sense to me resource wise as I'll state again, if fully automaton terracotta infantry was easy to make, they would have no jade warriors at all, and if it was more on the terracotta sentinel side of costs, then you wouldn't see it as infantry. Humans can do things automatons can do, but it would be like the vampire counts where the terracotta soldiers would make up the majority of the infantry and then be supplemented with actual human forces. I'm not saying terracotta soldiers can't be monstrous infantry, I'm specifically saying that monstrous infantry would logically be the smallest they could get without being a waste of resources. ![]() Think we missed one?
